@psychedelicarchives: In the 1966 documentary “How to Go Out of Your Mind: The LSD Crisis,” Richard Alpert (soon to become Ram Dass) described a defining psychedelic insight: the collapse of separateness. As a Harvard psychologist, Alpert saw how we are trained to flatten each other into categories—older/younger, richer/poorer, smarter/slower. These distinctions reinforce our differences and often create distance where there could be connection. Under psychedelics, those superficial identities lose their grip. What comes forward instead is a striking sense of similarity, and even a deeper feeling of shared existence. What once felt like difference gives way to a deeper continuity. And once that recognition takes hold, even briefly, it has a way of changing how you move through the world. Source: CBC (1966).

This happened to me & my fiancé we were so different in the beginning, but as soon as we experienced the “psychedelic experience” we understood we were so much more similar. It’s truly a beautiful feeling.
