does the astigmatism biweekly one with the uv blocking make the contacts get dark in the sun ?

Hi fellow OD here! Unfortunately, a lot of optometrists used to recommend this product to be worn as monthly to save patients money about 15 to 20 years ago. I’ll never understand why there are plenty of monthly products. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wore these lenses during Covid and wore one pair for three months. During my next visit my doc was like wanna switch to dailies. Now I know why 😅

Then why do some Optometrists tell their patients that they can wear it for a month? 🤦♀️

My optometrist 20+ years ago actually told me to wear them as monthlies! Then I went to a different eye doctor a few years ago and she chewed me out for doing this. 😑

This has been my contact lens for years… I did go through phases where I’d stretch them way past 2 weeks but now that I have adult money it’s not an issue lol I just haven’t found another lens that feels as good or better

These same contacts used to be a monthly lens. They changed them out of the blue a few years ago to “biweekly” and literally nothing changed about them.

I’m far too anxious to wear them longer than two weeks. I also notice noticeably more dryness around 1.5 weeks. I change religiously every other Wednesday!

My doctor told me to count two weeks of wearing them not of them being open and that’s what I’ve been doing for years what in the world

I’ve been getting these for YEARSSS saying I can wear a pair for a MONTH and once I complained abt dryness by like the second week they said calmly “well they are supposed to be worn for only two weeks but they can be worn up to a month” like why in the FAWK are u telling me this after years and a complaint?!?

the amount of people that have those "stretch" wear for a little bit more and ended up being 2-3 months is wild

I’m using the toric version but after the first week they’re unbearable to wear and have to replace them before the two weeks. I’m cleaning them as instructed so any help would be great

Yes, many people consciously use them as monthly lenses. They know about daily and monthly lenses and don't seem to accept that there is an interval between 🤷

My ophthalmologist told me every year and during the year that these are monthly. Then when I got a ready bad eye infection he said it’s my fault for not knowing. Like sir you are the Dr it’s on you to tell the patient to correct info about treatment plans
