@chasingnpus: The biggest mistake people make in Yellowstone National Park? Trying to see everything in one day. Yellowstone is HUGE, and this is where so many trips go wrong. In 2026, Yellowstone still does not require a general entry reservation, which makes a lot of people think they can just “figure it out when they get there.” That’s usually the mistake. Yellowstone’s NPS reservation page still says entry doesn’t require a reservation, but lodging and campgrounds often fill months ahead. What actually ruins the trip: • too much driving • jumping between zones • wasting your best hours in the car • trying to do Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic, Canyon, and Lamar like they’re next door They’re not. The best Yellowstone trips are built by zone, not by trying to do it all.
