@ivy_roadmap: THE VIBE CHECK IS OVER!!! Years of test, optional policies, have trained counselors, and students to think that colleges can peer into your soul, and accept you based on vibes alone- and it’s total BS. It turns out, when you don’t test people to verify their academics before you accept them, you end up accepting a bunch of people with lousy academics. Shocker. All the colleges, and especially the Ivy League learned from this test, optional disaster, and published report reports proving that the students they accepted under that policy were simply not qualified to be there and ended the policy for the most part. Even at the colleges that didn’t explicitly end the policy, they internally change their standards and made sure to accept student students who had at least on some level had an objective marker of achievement. Yet somehow, I’m hearing report reports left and right of school counselors at high-end prep schools across the world who were advising students that they didn’t need to take any tests or prove anything to be accepted to top colleges in America. They are 🤡. They lied to you. And if you want to know why you’re not getting accepted, this is it. So the next generation of students needs to learn from this mistake. Take the SAT, or at least some kind of test to verify your abilities, so the colleges are confident in accepting you. It’s not that high of a standard and it’s a really easy thing to fix.
