General rule of thumb for ACs if you are balling on a budget. If it blows cool but not cold, you can refill it, if it blows hot then you need get it fixed

Ac is not that simple. Too much gas and it won’t get cold or if there’s a leak it’ll be gone in a minute. Bad compressor won’t chill the gas. Missing air temperature sensor and the compressor won’t kick on. Condenser could be blocked with dirt and debris or pitted to hell. Moisture in the system also doesn’t let the system cool down.
