I am landscape I say now get some soil or sand level the garden just a thin coat of sand or soil then grass seed and water it constantly for 4 week and try not to go on it

I had that same Flymo, it's terrible because it uses plastic blades. I got a new one from B&Q for £35 I think, with metal blades. Much better

Grass seed… scatter it over the grass, little water and leave it. No walking on it for at least a week and you should start to have grass and that will fill the bald spots. 👌🏽

Us as 4 years experience living together (together for ten years and just married last year) … that mower, we have the same… it’s good mower, just not for first cut of season. Get it on highest setting or you’ll forever be struggling… also, short burst it and ‘hover’ over, don’t push it into the ground or it churns the soil up - your garden is also a new build, drainage is likely to be a problem, air rate it, use a pitchfork and sprinkle grass seeds or it’ll be like a quagmire come end of season 😂 do lots of research, it’s hard work doing gardening, a lot more hard work than people think. Use potted plants, it’ll get your garden looking nice with low maintenance and understanding any mistakes by nipping them in the bud. It’s hard, but you both will get there, well done guys 👏 you’ve got this ❤️xx

That will be fine. Get a decent mower doesn’t have to be petrol. A decent battery one would do and keep it cut short otherwise it will be very difficult to cut when you come to it
