@bratbustersparenting: How I generally deal with bad behaviour for children aged 3-12. ▶️ Want to know more about my approach to calm leadership parenting? Get the BratBusters Behaviour Board (Plus Toddler Basics) no-cost mini course when you sign up for my newsletter in my bio.
With situations like this once she gets to the “but why, but why” part my 9 yr old (ADHD) will continue to demand attention no matter how much I ignore. She will tantrum, scream, throw things, and yell that I’m “ignoring her” even though I explain that I’ll talk to her when she’s calm. She has an extremely hard time calming down on her own and is constantly trying to get into a power struggle. Would love some advice.

What if they like chores?! She loves helping us clean so it doesn’t feel like a consequence

Does this chore type thing work for 3 year olds? I can imagine mine would find things fun

Ok but shouldn’t you correlate consequences with the type of miss conduct?

I so badly want to do your parenting course but omg I can’t afford it. I’m doing everything I can from the vids but the course is just so far out of my financial reach 😩 😭

if the bad behavior occurs outside the home do you go to the board immediately when returning home?

My daughter is 3 and when she does something like pushing her brother, taking toys from him. Whatever it may be when we get onto her and try to correct her behavior she just looks at us like we had the audacity to tell her how to act and then starts crying

Do the chore, then media. What if they say they don’t care and that doesn’t affect them?
