Tazarotene is like the big sis to Tretinoin. Once you can handle daily use with the highest level of Tret you can graduate to taz.

its not necessarily better that tret. it has higher skin receptor specificity for a retinoid which means it can sometimes be more effective for some people depending on the effects they want. it can be very irritating for some but paradoxically some people can handle taz but can’t handle tret so its better for them. you don’t “graduate” to tazarotene after tret. if your skin is doing great on tret maybe stick with it or talk to your prescriber about what might be best for you if you’re interested in switching. personally i think its best to take a “if its not broken don’t fix it” approach to retinoids. also tretinoin is the gold standard and i believe is the most studied in terms of anti aging ☝️🤓

yall have fomo BAD. you shouldn’t even be using taz till you have had been on tretinoin and doing well (for most people.) You need to research it as it’s even stronger than tretinoin. you can’t use any actives on it & it’s an extensive routine. the only active you can MAYBE use is azelaic acid. use tret till you can use it everyday before switching to taz

My Dermatologist had me on this once I was on 0.1 of Tret for 8 years. It was so stong I had to go back down to 0.05 of Tret. Destroyed my skin barrier. 😩😂😂 Just be careful.

I use taza for problem areas. So my 11s and nasolabial folds and tret everywhere else. I’ve used tret for 10 years. My skin rocks with it well. Taza can be harsher, so I’m not interested in using it all over. Tret is still the standard and most researched. I’ll never quit her completely.

They both get the job done but Tara is a better product for me. I can use it daily with no irritation. Daily Tret would definitely irritate. However, my insurance will no longer cover Tara and they sent me a letter saying they would only pay for tret!
