As a NG compressor mechanic, I had some old af Arrow 330’s and a Ford 300 that lived off the trashiest fuel imaginable with a 30 day pm schedule. I used to pull the plug on the intake manifold and let them suck up an aerosol can cap of Marvel Mystery Oil and uncooked rice before I shut them down. Did an excellent job of dislodging the carbon buildup. 🤣 Flaming rice out the exhaust.

We used to let ole Waukesha motors sip on ice water. You could see chunks of carbon fly out of the exhaust

I also put a QT of tranny fluid in the oil 500 miles before and oil change. It cleans out the sludge
