You overreact… then question yourself after Something small happens—and your reaction feels big. Anger, anxiety, shutdown. Then later you think, “Why did I respond like that?” That’s not weakness—that’s your nervous system detecting danger where there isn’t any. 2. You struggle to relax—even when things are fine You finally get a moment to rest… and your mind speeds up. You feel restless, on edge, or guilty for slowing down. That’s because your body has learned that “stillness isn’t safe.” 3. You avoid, numb, or shut down Procrastination. Scrolling. Zoning out. Or feeling disconnected from people and emotions. That’s not laziness—it’s a protective response to avoid overwhelm. This isn’t who you are. It’s a pattern your nervous system learned to keep you safe. Start small: Pause. Breathe.
