I had no desire to see my daughter-in-law give birth. I love her like my own but I seriously did not want to stress her out. Even her own mother left when it was time to actually deliver. She said that experience is to personal and should only be between her daughter and my son.

When my BFF gave birth, I was terrified she'd ask me to be there for support. I told her I would if she needed it, but I would prefer not to. She was like, even my mom won't be there. Whew, I was so relieved.

Thank god my family doesn’t act like this skit. I wasn’t expecting to see my daughter deliver and she surprised me by asking me to stay. It was amazing ❤️❤️❤️

I was thrilled to be able to be at the hospital awaiting my granddaughter's birth. if my dil had wanted me to be in delivery with her she would have let me know. I got to see Dottie shortly after so I was absolutely fine with that.

My mom was in the waiting room. It was me and the hubbs. She was totally ok with it. I’d have gone no contact years ago. My MIL was one of the best women I knew.

my mil was there for my first she just wanted to sit in the corner and pray that was all she stood the night to help me and sent my husband home

Her mother is there to support her child. My mother is the only person who was comforting when I had my second baby. My husband at the time was not supportive. We had to be there at 6:00 for my induction so he was tired and had to take a nap. He kicked back in the recliner and snored through the last half of labor and my mother was the only person who was helping me.

my in-laws stayed at home while my divorced parents came and spent time with me together, both holding my hands and helping me before it was time. they worked together to even stop by our house to check on our dog, cleaned and worked with our friend to schedule times to let our dog out and give him company. the first time they were in the same room in 20 years, not one bad word, just them supporting their baby girl🥰

When my son and partner had my grandkids it was only them and medical staff in the room. Her mum and I sat in the waiting room and waited to be called in. I accepted that this their journey and that's what they wanted.
