@theprettypractitioner: She came in with a tender scalp and a diagnosis she didn’t fully understand…. And honestly? That’s more common than you think. Scalp tenderness isn’t just sensitivity… it’s your body signaling that something is out of balance. As a scalp practitioner, that’s the first thing I’m looking for. Because before we can talk about hair growth, length retention, or any styling goal… we have to talk about what’s happening at the root. This client had been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis by her dermatologist. But she was struggling to stay consistent with her home care, and her scalp was flaring because of it. Here’s what that actually means: yeast and excess oil are triggering inflammation on the scalp. And inflammation, left unaddressed, creates an environment where nothing thrives. So in her treatment, we targeted the source not just the symptoms. A targeted protocol to address the yeast and oils causing the flare-up. And before she left, she had the knowledge and the tools to actually maintain this at home. Because what happens between your appointments matters just as much as what happens in my chair. Seborrheic dermatitis is chronic… but it can absolutely be managed. And after just one visit, she felt relief she hadn’t felt in a long time. If your scalp has been tender, don’t ignore it. That’s your body talking. Share this with a friend who’s been dealing with scalp issues and doesn’t know where to start. And follow along… I break down real scalp education here every week so you always know what’s going on beneath the surface. Drop a comment and tell me: have you ever been diagnosed with a scalp condition but didn’t know how to manage it at home? I read every single one… and you might just inspire my next post. 👇🏽 #seborrheicdermatitis #scalpspecialist

Yes, I actually went through having my scalp cut to find out what was going on with my scalp. I was told it was two different inflammation. I have had my scalp tenderness several times. Spent a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner.
