I needed to hear this. I literally just delayed my retirement another 5 years because I got panicky about everyone asking me what I was going to be doing. They DO make it sound like you’re supposed to have some kind of divine mission from god that becomes your new occupation. Like - I just want to enjoy my coffee, go for a walk, & make a wonderful dinner. Isn’t that enough? I’ve worked myself half to death for decades. I just want peace.

Yes! I retired in December and my answer was: my plan is NO plan! I have turned taking care of myself into my full time job. Prioritizing healthy food, movement, sleep and having fun—even if that means doing nothing.

Thank you, I retired 4 months ago and I think everyone I knew asked me what my plans are or what am I going to " DO " I really didnt know, still dont, but I dont feel guilty reading a book or crocheting until I decide something else catches my eye.

Retired almost five years. Have yet to panic. Just embraced not having to go to work and do whatever I want. Even if that’s absolutely nothing.

Thank you. At 66 still working because I am afraid to give up everything I know, yet your thoughts have made me realise every phase in life comes to an end just like the seasons, I am now seriously thinking about retiring ❤️
