So the biggest thing to take into consideration is the car brand if asking how many miles is too much on a used car. 90k miles on a Toyota is not the same as 90k on a European car, Kia, Range Rover ect

A lot of miles in a short period of time is actually way better than low miles per year. Age is what makes the things like plastics, seals, hoses, etc deteriorate. High miles in a short time will still appear new. I’ve seen many Toyotas with 200k+ miles that still look new after 4-5 years. Maintenance is key. I put 30,000 miles per year on my truck, still looks brand new.

I always buy my cars with around 25k miles, which seems to be a sweet spot for depreciation vs. usable life.

I honestly don't think it would be too ridiculous to have a newer car with a lot of miles, it probably means the owner was mostly driving it on the interstate.

I have a car I bought 3 years ago with 130k miles, I’ve almost put 100k miles on her and she’s still riding strong. Never been in the shop but I do regular maintenance!
