Little did I realize that the song was describing him—a person who had put all his trust in Jesus and had more years behind him than ahead of him. I think that’s why he loved it so much. I think about eternity daily. Growing up, my parents and grandparents never shied away from telling me that there’s a Heaven, but just as surely as there is a Heaven, there is also a Hell. While cleaning the house one day, a note slipped out of one of Papaw’s Bibles. It said, “We have a choice: live a life devoted to Him, or live a life separate from Him.
