There is a Treasury market, stock market, options market, futures market, forex market, prediction markets and so on. A market is a place where you buy and sell something and the type of market is the type of products available to sell. If you know what motivated buyers and sellers of different investment products, then you start to understand how markets work and analyze them. Buyers and sellers are investors.
