It’s called claiming the intersection and I hate when people don’t do it. If the light is green you pull forward, you have already passed the green light, once the last car is through you make the turn because you already have the right of way. It is not running a red light because you have already passed the intersection and are just waiting your turn.

I was taught in driving school in 03ish to wait with your back bumper on the stop line if there's room. and absolutely clear once it turns

Just yesterday, a light with no arrow to turn left, I move up to wait for traffic and light changes cars keep going through red light and I have to turn after red light.

done that and had to wait so long it turned red, but again couldn't turn, and when it cleared went through, I was nervous cause it was red because their was a cop, I entered when it was green and got honked at but cop did absolutely nada

this is in California other states its more common to not leave the line until it's clear. as a Californian i understand our traffic but feel it does cause a problem IF a emergency vehicle enters the intersection then must avoid the car or wait for the car while the stunned driver has no clue and freezes up instead of getting the fuck out of the way!

Y'see, what i do is just not fuck up the flow of traffic and I drive like a bat out of hell. 18 years and zero car on car accidents. People can critique all they want but 99% of the time they have had multiple accidents
