Side note, to my knowledge we dont actually know what Matriarchal societies look like. We often assume it would be the opposite of Patriarchal standards, but that is ascribing to patriarchy with extra steps. We have evidence of matrilineal societies, but not matriarchal to my knowledge.

there’s a norwegian satire novel named Egalia’s daughters (1984) where society is flipped and women have all the power. the author, Gerd Brantenberg, has written several books about feminism, capitalist critique and gay pride. worth a read!

absolutely! my American literature professor recommended this book as the basis for my BA thesis (I did it like 3 years ago) and I was fascinated by it. every time I reread I noticed someone new (both something I liked with her ideas and something that I was like girl bffr). highly recommend to anyone since it's a short book (like 100, or 150 pages at most) and you could sit and discuss basically every sentence of it

I highly recommend Gate to Women's Country by Sheri Tepper, a 1988 post apocalyptic feminist novel that is quite thought provoking
