@doctor.naveena: ..they just wear scrubs now. And before anyone comes at me, yes, it’s an overstatement. And no, not everyone is like this. But if you’ve experienced it… you know exactly what I mean. We say “support women in medicine” all the time, and I do believe most of us mean it. But the truth is that some of the harshest criticism, competition, and tension I’ve experienced has come from other women. And I think part of the reason is the environment we’re put in. It takes so much just to get here. Years of proving yourself in spaces that weren’t built for you. And somewhere along the way, that turns into comparison, defensiveness, or maybe feeling like there’s only room for a few of us to succeed. But I’d love to normalize being a girl’s girl in medicine. Choosing collaboration over competition. Because this job is already hard enough. #womeninmedicine #womeninstem #doctor #medicine #residency

I’m sorry it’s the sad truth BUT people change I know I have and I hope I get the forgiveness for whoever I was mean too . I’m human and made mistakes and may have treated people unfairly I was young and dumb . I look back at it and regret it .

Got bullied so hard in the OR as a surgical tech student I didn’t go back after I graduated. I’m too scared to go back genuinely.

One of my nurses gave me some snacks out of her own lunchbox when I finally got my NG tube pulled after about 17 days of not being able to eat because she knew my food would take a while to finally come up and I’ll always remember her for that 🫶🏻 i completely expected her to be a mean girl as soon as she walked in but she was extremely kind to a patient she’d literally JUST met and that’s the main reason I’m not as nervous about hospitalizations anymore
