My dog recently became reactive and it’s STRESSING😭 she wants to say hi to every dog and person. It got like that after taking her to work with me at daycare I now only take her for emergencies

For all the reactive dog owners that are trying just know I see you. Strangers may judge based on a few negative interactions, but what matters is you showing up for them. Not every dog is the same and some may need more attention and patience. It’s not always easy but just know you’re doing great.

I think flexi leashes are okay for non pavement walks, like yards, parks, hikes, etc, but if you’re taking them to the pet store or home depot or something then they’re need to be on a fixed short leash

the biggest thing that helped my reactive dog is teaching him how to settle EVERYWHERE. i mean everywhere, in the home, in the car, in a store, at the park. everywhere he goes he needs to be able to lay down and relax there. obviously this didn’t happen overnight but him now being at a point where he can settle anywhere has brought down his reactions by A LOT

My dog is reactive, but he's a Great Pyrenees so even working with trainers they said as long as he's at home he's going to react to strangers because of his breed. Thankfully in public he's fine

I need mental help :
i walk my dog on a flexi but because I walk her in a large field, alone and she has a semi-acceptable recall, but if I'm in public with her she has a fixed leash
