Mane & Tail: Ethereal, semi-translucent purple/blue veil filled with floating stars. Personality: Arrogant, dramatic, and vengeful. She craves adoration and authority, believing that forcing an eternal night will compel ponies to appreciate her realm. Key Role in the Series The Return (Series Premiere): On the 1,000th year during the Summer Sun Celebration, the stars aligned and freed Nightmare Moon from her prison. She captured Celestia and attempted to lock Equestria in perpetual darkness. Defeat & Redemption: Twilight Sparkle and her friends unlocked the magic of the Elements of Harmony to purge the dark entity, stripping away the nightmare forces and restoring Luna back to her true, remorseful self.
