It’s the same case like of having it in the kitchen. Why do you keep there? We might keep in the bathroom also the laundry baskets etc. So it’s quite convenient to have washing machine there.

Because in the UK electric sockets are prohibited in the bathroom. Also this must be small apartment and a small bathroom,we have washing machine and dryer in the utility room.

I thinking keeping the washing machine in the bathroom comes from a time when laundry was soaked by hand in the tub, and then continue washing in automat.Older buildings were designed for that. Today, in new apartments, washing machines are often hidden in closets, niches, or kitchens - the bathroom is no longer the only option.

The United States, we have it in a closet or typically in the basement. It’s not in the kitchen and it’s not in the bathroom.

Sir both countries have small spaces because back in the day nobody was accounting for the laundry simply you put laundry machine where you have a space …and the answer is neither there should be a separate room for laundry
