@thebreastchapter: This was one of the hardest and bravest chapters yet. My hair started coming out in clumps… and the waiting, the wondering, the constant checking…that part was more traumatizing than the moment itself. So I took control. I shaved it to a 1, with my babies beside me and my husband. My youngest giggled as she helped, and my oldest cried at first…watching her mama change right in front of her. But then we put on silly wigs, danced around the bathroom, and suddenly the heaviness didn’t feel so heavy anymore. This was emotional. This was raw. But now that it’s done, I feel lighter. Stronger. Free from the dread of waiting for what was already happening. Losing my hair doesn’t take away who I am…if anything, it reminds me how unstoppable I really am.
