@whatmotivatedyou: I lost my mom. She was only 60. Dementia took her slowly… and then all at once. Watching someone you love fade away piece by piece is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. You see them there physically, but the person you knew starts disappearing. 12 years ago, I lost my dad to cancer in palliative care. And now… I lost my mom the same way. We grew up with nothing. She sacrificed everything for us. No matter how hard life got, she always found a way to take care of us. She believed in me before anyone else did. That’s why I became a nurse. That’s why I worked so hard in business… late nights, stress, everything… because I just wanted to change our life. I wanted to give them the life they never had. I wanted to take care of her the way she took care of me. I’ve lost both of my parents. It doesn’t even feel real. If your parents are still here… don’t wait. Call them. Hug them. Spend time with them. Because one day you won’t be able to. I love you mom. I hope I made you proud. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. May Allah grant her Jannah and forgive all her sins.
