Unpopular opinion: What a damn sht! All the development Max went through in the previous game and in this one was for nothing. She was starting to accept that things weren't her fault, beginning to accept leaving the past behind throughout her character development, only to be given such an emotionally immature ending as having her return in the photo because she couldn't save everyone when Moses explained to her that it was too dangerous. She was supposed to have begun to understand the consequences of her decisions and learn to live with the consequences of the decisions she made. Besides, I feel really bad for Chloe. Imagine having a girlfriend with a savior complex and a perfectionist who feels like her whole world is falling apart if things don't go perfectly, and wouldn't hesitate to leave you because of her selfish need to fix everything perfectly. Max deserved to be better written and have a more adult and mature ending.

I chose to give her the photo the first time and it's kind of a bummer Max will dwell on it. I was hoping Max would destroy the photo herself instead of holding onto it 😭

I haven’t watched the full gameplay through, but I can definitely say that I’m happy to see Chloe has matured in a lot of ways. She’s still the same old Chloe we knew from the very first game and before the storm but again she’s matured and a lot more ways she’s less wild or so quick to fly off the handle. She’s more sensitive and sweet and open with her emotions and if she feels overwhelmed, she’ll remove herself from the situation and work on what she needs and what she can do to help fix it

It’s bullshit this is the last we see of them.. 11 whole years and it was still just a fade to black with a few ending slides. I was expecting so much more, but I guess I feel content with it now. A happy ending is a good ending and it’s better than the depressing one of the first game. Another sad thing is that this is probably the end of the franchise as a whole.
