@doc4heart: As a heart surgeon who's terrified of needles, I find the real effects of sham acupuncture fascinating! Let's dive into why it actually helps beyond being a placebo. #acupuncture #acupunctureworks #easternmedicine #pain #painrelief
I love that you respect all treatment modalities with data that supports it. Most MD’s do not.

I also feel nervous receiving needles, and yet ironically I’m in school to learn acupuncture. Glad I’m not the only one! :)

Great post! Better for the surgeon to be on the giving end than the sharp receiving end of needles / scalpels / sutures

Believe in acupuncture 100000%. Chinese medicine man, these dudes know your medical issues before you even tell them (if they’re good). And sham - you’re still stimulating points that are involved in body functions just not going deep into the muscle. There’s evidence that stimuli to the external body, influences the brain, related to pain and mental health conditions for example. I believe mental health issues also have a lot to do with diet, lack of movement, gut issues and yeah. It’s fascinating.

I am trying SAAT for my corn allergy. How do you feel about that? I started a week ago and have to leave the seeds in my ear for 4 weeks.
