I think what they're tryna say is that female fan service focuses on making them appear "sexy" or attractive in a sense that they dumb them down or objectify women, but male fanservice, though at some times can also objectify men, mostly consists of a man being seen as caring or kind an example of this is say Lauma & Mavuika and Xiao & Flins, even in their designs u can see this, Both Lauma and Mavuika's designs are Heavily sexualized and are considered fanservice on the otherhand, Xiao is also fan service but isn't sexualized or objectified in any way, his fanservice isn't anything sexual, it's his personality towards the traveler

Male fan service is still objectifying them. They are objects (when it comes to fictional characters ofc not real people) no matter what people will have an issue with it. If there’s no fan service it’ll be feeding into puritan culture. If there’s more of one gender than the other it’s sexist. If there’s equal amounts of both it’s perverted. Luckily the internet is a place where you can choose what you interact with. So if you want to see one and not the other you can find it. Don’t make it everyone else problem. The only thing that should be talked about is if it’s romanticizing illegal or immoral behavior.
