No offence mate but why not pop up the lower sash and use a proper sash stepped sill rather than chopping away the nose of the existing? Still use redwood, easy to run out and some yards stock them even. I make and restore sash windows so just curious

Should of used hardwood sill nosing and used repaircare dry flex resin to bond it to existing. No need for screws

Now strip the paint from window, Sandown and coat with paint. Pointless doing just a good job on the cill

Well that takes me back to West Lothian Council days. Called it Pre Painting b4 the painters came in. We used to do the full cill and trace the bottom rail of the sash as well as new parting beads and patched the case as well..
