Another reason bc the majority of its track is made up of recycled freight rails (the whole railway was built to be super cheap + quick to install), and im pretty sure a lot of the infrastructure is meant to be easy to remove, compared to a traditional railway

you don't really need that strong conical wheels on these tbh trams in my city have tighter curves and they use the same wheel profile as the railway which is barely conical
