Tip from experience: if either mud pan or drywall knives are plastic, make sure the other is plastic also. If one is metal and the other is plastic, it takes chunks out of the plastic which ends up in the mud and messes up how the mud sets

Honestly the pre mixed buckets are way better for a faster dry time you could mix a bag of plaster with the pre mixed buckets
