From this 55 year old. This was my 1st computer in 1984. Remember typing in the ‘program’ for 25 hours for some shit game and hoping it worked? When it worked it was absolute elation.

Oh my lord he’s doing BASIC. I knew the guy that wrote the language. Bill gates paid him $55000 to do it. Then didn’t give the guy royalties. Gates made billions off it.

It was fun being on the bleeding edge of technology on my Atari 800, disk drive, acoustic coupler, Epson 9 pin printer, etc.

Timex Sinclair 1000 (with cassettes); Commodore 128; IBM Clone with a 40MB hard drive and a 5 1/4 inch floppy disk drive, and a self installed Math Coprocessor chip; and a Pentium were my starter computers. Lotus 123, WordPerfect; and MS Flight Simulator for the TS1000 on cassette.

The cassette drive. 13 minutes to load a game that would crash half the time and you would have to start all over.

My mom was a third grade teacher for 31 years. Back then, she used to bring the Commodore 64 home during the summer break so I could do it. It was on this computer that I played my first adventure game, Zach McCracken, and the alien mindbenders. Then I moved on a maniac mansion. The first computer I ever bought with my own money was the Amiga 500 and I purchased a secret of monkey Island at the same time. 54 and still gaming hard. I still also have my Atari 2600 from 1978. The Colecovision as well.
