@midwest.canary: Throwback to when the Alltrack popped a tire on 696 at midnight and I was an hour away from home. Was driving alone so I used my skills to change my own tire on the side of the expressway. Fun times. #flattire #stranded #tirechange #brokedown #volkswagen
Imagine not getting newer tires instead of the tires been used once a year for the last 8 years 😂

Check the date codes… Recommendation is replace them if more than six years old. My father’s truck is 20 years old and has 21K miles. The third set of tires just went on as the first two both failed at about 10 years of age.

so for everyon, if you look at the DOT on the side of the tire, there four numbers... that's the week and year..

the attic is no place to store tire when it got hot and cold to break the tire down

Get all 4 new tires or you'll have the same issue on the other 3. Dry rotted side walls seems to be the issue. I had 2 different valvestems break off on a road trip.

I have learned the hard way always check the manufacturer date on tires even from tire shops i bought a pair from Walmart once that were "leftover" black Friday tires that were dry rotting 2 months after I got them Google how to the check the age and found out they were 13 years old

Hey at least it was a rear tire and not the front! Then you would be swapping the rear to the front so you don’t have a donut for a steer tire.either way amazing job!

That's why you read the date code on the tire and check for dry rotting
