@pibblingaround: (Read to learn his name!) This week I was planning on being at Global Pet Expo, but I had applied to adopt a dog and it just happens that the dog was available this week. By dog, I mean a tiny puppy! So while I really miss Global this year (last year I was happy to take the year off after 13 years in a row of going to 🙂), staying back to welcome a puppy home after being so heartbroken over the loss of Cody is a good enough reason for me. Two things can be true at the same time, still missing Cody so much, but so happy to bring this similar looking boy home. So far he has been so good, and is a soft, sweet puppy. A big thank you to everyone at Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation Venessa and Lauren (the puppy momma who helped raise them) for taking such wonderful care of the pets there, and helping facilitate his adoption process. Please let me officially welcome you to Louie Blaze! ❤ My first dog with a middle name! Blaze for the stripe of white on the back of his neck. So far, he knows, come, sit, down, place, he slept through the night on his first night home and has already met a few family members. 🙂 While no dog will ever ever ever replace the previous dog, this 20lb bundle of cuteness will help heal a lot of hearts. Louie has already been to 2 St. Patrick's Day parades, Puppy Yoga, and a pet education class while he was with SASF! Hoping to continue his social butterfly lifestyle! And if you're a little woo woo, I asked Cody for a sign on the way home from the second time meeting Louie (Dustin was his name at the shelter), and a Sun Dog appeared in the sky a few minutes after leaving the shelter. I may or may not have been crying, but also so happy that I knew Louie was meant for me. Louie was born on January 11, 2026, Cody gained his wings on January 12, 2026, he was Cody sent.
