These are good choices not because they have small engines, but because they are niche for young drivers. The biggest influence on insurance prices that people don’t realise is the claim data for the category of person you are. For example, when I was 20, I bought a 3.2l z4m coupe which cost £750pa to insure (3yrs ncb). My 1.6l r50 Mini which I also owned at the time cost me £1800pa… Don’t worry about engine size, go for whatever is most unlikely for a young driver/someone in your position would buy, because according to the data, young drivers are unlikely to make claims on that car.

My first car was a Smart Roadster that I renovated from scrap and bought for the towing fee (and adored) and my second car was a Nissan cube Z11 I imported from Kyoto 😂 and sprayed this video feels TOO specific ✌️Weird car lovers club

Toyota aygo. Lasted 4 years. Treated it terribly. £0 tax per year. £54 MOT. Serviced it once. Insurance was £400 annually. Sold it for £4000 👍🏻

can't wait for the day I can get my hands on a fiat panda. it's not my first car tbh, the first one is actually a lancia Ypsilon, but I still dream of one. I was so close to getting one recently but then couldn't afford it anymore for other reasons :/ I'm still super bitter about it, but I'm hopeful I'll find another one easily when I can afford it
