I HEAVILY recommend “Koyaanisqatsi” 1982 (?) by Godfrey Reggio. It will BLOW YOUR MIND!!! The entire history of the evolution of the human race to a Phillip Glass score that will leave you hypnotized and reeling. There are no characters and no dialogue- just images and music. Insane. Incredible. Its only about an hour and a half but its so painfully beautiful.

Currently, i always find myself watching Kiki’s delivery service when im making art, the colours are beautiful (as well as every other ghibli film), one of the characters is an artist and there’s some scenes that i feel like was made as a message to artists and anyone who’s burnt out. Its also slow paced which i like for watching films while painting cos its not too distracting

Legend, Tim Curry version is my favorite creative plot movie. Also the 10th Kingdom. It is a mini series about a girl who's deadbeat mom is an evil queen. The girl finds this out and goes back to the fairytale land and falls in love with Lorelei Gimore's teacher love interest. It's great.

I saw Loving Vincent in the theater. I was moved to tears by its beauty and the dedication of so many artists. To give a suggestion, anything by Terry Gilliam, some favs: Time Bandits, Brazil, Baron Munchausen, 12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing… so many!

as someone whos watched the extended cuts of lord of the rings more times than i can count IF YOU HAVE ALREADY WATCHED THEM great painting movies, pacing is good, music is beautiful and obviously the movies themselves are so beautiful. not great if you havent seen them before and i guess because im such a nerd about them i always end up getting distracted at certain points lol
