I HATE HATE HATE how Ragatha's entire writing is just Pomni. Can we find out WHY it's Pomni the most? Is it a trauma response because she feels as if the rest of the cast already gave up on her so she tries to start new with her?

My issue is that Jax’s story would be so, so much better if they allowed Ragatha to have a deeper story. Jax and Ragatha’s story parallels each other. Both cope by putting on a fake facade, and both start to crumble towards the end. The difference is that Ragatha had people to rely on when her facade failed, Jax refused to get help. The issue with the show is while Ragatha’s story ends right there, Jax’s story keeps going. It’s a shame because Ragatha could have been given more care, and it would make Jax’s story more palatable for those who dislike him

TADC is just another victim of "Indie cartoon creator lures you in with a main FMC and then shills their dudes down your throat and no one around you cares." I actually have ONE small complaint for Kinger, otherwise I agree with you. He's GREAT. BUT Pomni & especially Ragatha had to have known about his lucid loophole within the dark before that ep. The fact we got 0 instances of them trying to learn about the place in his pillow fort is stupid AF. idc. But that's not his fault, that's the writers fault for making the characters so uncurious about the world. It's why I find the characters boring IDC if they are coping, DO SOMETHING TO LEAVE, TRY. And not just in 1 ep, CONSISTENTLY. Especially, Pomni. To end this Jax sucks. You're favorite man SUCKS.

i think the thing that annoys me is that it feels like 9 episodes isn’t enough. its just not enough time for the world of tdac to be fully developed and fleshed out. i think it would have been cool for it to be a monster-of-the-week-esque show where we get different adventures every week/month that EVENTUALLY turns into something serialized so the writing can take its time instead of feeling rushed or boxed in by whatever gooseworx set up for themselves

that bit about the “you only don’t notice bc of the time between episodes” reminds me of glitchtale and how absolutely ahh it was but there were month or year gaps between eps so not a lot of pale noticed 😭

I always understood it as parallels to IHNMAIMS which is why Ragatha is a doormat and I felt it was obvious within her character design; rag dolls being played with roughly so her pain is assumed to be something she can manage and she puts a lot of emotional burden on herself. Ellen from IHNMAIMS has a similar character structure as she’s from an inspiration. Same can be said with any character here. Especially with Jax. When you understand his parallels with Ted you understand why he’s a focus and yes both characters are meant to be hated. There was buildup to Caine, many just forget the little cracks in his demeanor were there as it’s overshadowed by the fondness he has for the cast. Caine unabashedly cares about them but he is childish which is very similar to AM. AM is best described as an angsty teen, according to Harlan Ellison

I'm mixed on how I feel about Caines writing, because if you really think about it, you can tell that he's genuinely misunderstanding what the actual situation is. From his POV, he IS doing everything right. He's so fast paced that he doesn't pay attention when people are tryna tell him things. I do think that him calling himself a "god" is ooc even for the situation he's in though. According to the writer, episode 8 was more like a tantrum, but I feel like there should've been moments where you can actually tell it's a facade. Like I Heard that his last moments weren't just him realizing he was being deleted, but also realizing he was in the wrong, but it literally doesn't look like that at all. Just that he physically felt himself getting deleted and felt scared. I feel like he's a really good character but that episode 8 wasn't executed as well as it could've been.

My biggest issue is that the characters having amnesia for some reason😭 like Pomni and Ragatha said they were going to have a conversation later, but then that either never happened or happened off screen? and the end of ep 7 when it’s revealed that Caine is the cause of abstraction, but in episode 8 it’s never brought up again

I feel like the show was set up to be less of a “two main characters” thing and more of an ensemble cast situation with Pomni being the pov character. I don’t entirely understand the point of having this big a cast if some of them get little to no development or screen time & aren’t lore important

despite caine being my absolute favorite character i don't like how everyones acting like hes #deep after ep 8 and that his crashout didn't come out of nowhere. i really wish there was more build up for his character motivations because he gets no dialogue other than "err what the flip did you just say bubble" for nearly six episodes
