addressing this to all of the arguments going on in my comments; i just want to clarify that no i am not making this post with the intent of disrespecting jesus christ, nor am i considering “jester” from duffy’s digital circus or even pomni from the show itself as “god” in any form of fashion. in the original media, the amazing digital circus, the first episode portrays the circus characters eating at a wide table as pomni comes to the realization of her captivity and goes through an existential crisis—the scene alone ALLUDES to the last supper (like people have clarified in my comment section, this was a commissioned piece by van gogh and he references people who have done some form of mortal sin as BIBLICAL characters—these are ironic portrayings of holy people, i.e jesus christ being based off of a prostitute in the actual painting itself, so this painting is more of a symbolic expression, not an actual religious painting but i won’t shame people for thinking that way since it’s inspired by THEIR religion, that’s not what i’m trying to say). not only that, the abandoned company who made the circus is called “caine & abel) and guess which character is named after caine? and exactly what does caine do to bubble, or should i say, abel? in episode 8, caine is manipulated into believing that he has actual divine authority over the cast and goes as far to declare himself as GOD. there are as many biblical references in the amazing digital circus as there is in duffy’s digital circus; the jester says to nullble in “a conversation video” and i quote (i’m paraphrasing here); “you don’t NEED to pray to god, / you can just ask me directly.” and even the plot is revolved around an authoritarian figure with a god complex in the circus and how it ruins the lives of the cast—since caine and pomni fused into one, creating the jester. i hate the fact that random tiktok users i don’t know at all are cherry picking my symbolisms and boiling them down to “FUCK JESUS, I LOVE TADCSLOP” when that CLEARLY isn’t my intention. for one, ragatha and zooble are the ones who look the most devastated or apathetic because they’re the ones who have actively done S/H or worse in duffy’s digital circus, and gangle represents judas because she’s extremely self-righteous in the AU and believes to be the “only logical person here”, and MY version portrays that by making her mask smile at pomni while glaring enviously and angrily at YOU; kinger is staring at you because he’s completely aware of his captivity in the DARK, while he’s half-illuminated in the light so he’s aware to everything but himself. in the beach episode, everybody votes for the blue button but jax so the lights inside the dinner hall represents that scene and also portrays the colors on jesus’s robes. at the end of the day, i can recognize how it may be disrespectful to draw over a painting portraying a religion, but to all of the people calling me disrespectful for blaspheming christianity—please don’t put words in my mouth because you refuse to look deeper into the actual message nor do you take the time for a simple five minutes of research. what makes me even more upset? somebody has the gall, and yes you know who you are, suggest that i could’ve just used a reference photo in the corner and copied to the best of my ability to avoid this altercation altogether. i’m sorry, but are YOU the artist here? what makes you think i didn’t do just that? during my process, i used the painting to not only keep the composition proportional of that in the original painting—but i had used my artistic liberty to use the painting as a base because it was EXACTLY in line with my message.
