I actually quit bc of this, I was excelling in a class full of literal children as a 17 yr old, refused to move me to the teen class so I left

This is why I specialize in beginner groups for teens and adults. It gives them some privacy and agency to learn without being with small children. My end goal is always to get them caught up enough to join their appropriate age group with a more advanced class

older students can progress faster because they have more body awareness and an easier ability to apply corrections. This may be why the older dancer seems more advanced than the younger ones despite having the same amount of experience. of course there are outliers in every situation.

The only thing hard about it is finding a beginner class for older teens/ adults. I took a ballet class in college and loved it. I've never been able to access it again.
