tips from someone editing since 2018: 1. do NOT fall for blurr propaganda. use cc for starters, slowly move up to vsp, after that, am. if you REALLY want to try, ae or blurr. 2. make edits YOU like to do, doesn't need anyone's approval. plus, its better being proud of yourself than someone else disliking it.3. do a trend if YOU like it or it fits your fandom. you can do generic edits aswell, if you really like so. 4. practice > doing everything in one go. do small parts first before editing a complete video. for example, editing a simple transition or a text before doing it inside the edit itself. 5. have patience. yes, apps can crash in the middle of your edit, but most of them save your progress to where you last stopped or similar. 6. if someone says your edits are bad, its part of the editing community. don't take action, ignore it. unless its something that crosses limits. 7. you don't have to edit everyday if you don't feel like it. yes, consistency makes the algorithm push it a bit more. but it doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna go viral. its either 50 videos with 2 virals, or stuck in the 300 views jail. no in between. 8. first 3 seconds + motion grabs attention. trust me. if you nail the first 3 seconds, you grab most people's attention. and zooms should have purpose aswell. 9. consistency is key for almost everything else. if you use visuals you like and it goes viral, do it again. 8/10 times the same or similar visuals will probably go viral. try new visual styles aswell if needed. 10. organize everything. takes time? yes, but its better than a digital mess soup. name your files, pdf effects, save project versions, keep music organized, etc. 11. use GOOD music. not ancient 1500s music. clips should match music energy. music carries more emotion than you think. most importantly: lower music on dialogues, otherwise its not gonna do too much. if you want, sound effects on sounds are peak. that's all i have.
