ER and urgent care are two different things - even if she has permission to take her - you need to be notified because no legal guardian is there. This person has no medical power of attorney.

As a medical receptionist when checking in a minor we ask the adults name and relationship to the minor. If she said she was step mom/ dad’s girlfriend there would have been a call to mom or dad to get verbal consent for the visit. The verbal consent is documented on the pts visit encounter. She deffo said she was mom.

They literally ask “who are you to this child” EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have an 18yr old daughter and still to this day the pediatrician asks “you are mom?” THEY NEVER ASSUME! Take them to court IMMEDIATELY!

there’s no way they just let her “sign in under dad” you ALWAYS have to show ID and clarify who you are to the child when bringing them to urgent care.

but the issue actually is that someone might have taken your child to a doctor/nurse, /medical centre without your knowledge at all.. as a mother you should ALWAYS be notified. both parents should be aware. and notified
