We have to remember Alchemised is a rewrite to Manacled. Manacled was fun you already loved the characters. The way it was rewritten didn't do it for me. They took out the creek scene which was my favorite. When you replace the MFC in Alchemised with the Original Hermione it makes more sense. So I always tell people to read Manacled and they don't even need to read Alchemised.

I was really struggling with alchemised up to page 150 so I understand the want to put it down, but I have a really hard time DNF’ing a book. It’s gotta be just plain ✨bad✨ for me to do that (I’m looking at you Credence). I am on page 165 of alchemised and it’s now starting to get to where I don’t want to put it down 🥰🥰
