I will explain it: Luminol has two acidic hydrogens; the sodium hydroxyl group deprotonates them, leaving a luminol dianion ready for oxidation. (Water is only a solvent for NaOH.) Hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) is a slow oxidizing agent, so it requires the assistance of ferrocyanide (K₃FeCN₆). This ferrocyanide oxidizes the luminol dianion, and the peroxide helps complete the oxidation. The resulting oxidation produces an excitation of electrons, resulting in light emissions (electrons emitting a "AAAAHHHHHH HELPPP" sound).
