I’m 40 years old and scheduled for a hysterectomy next week. One of the first things my doctor told me was, “I don’t remove ovaries for patients under 60 unless there’s a medical reason.” Hearing that gave me so much peace of mind. My doctor is a woman of color like me, and I absolutely love her. She took the time to explain everything, answer my questions, and make sure I understood my options. Having a doctor who listens, cares, and puts my long term health first means the world to me.
