@acaciaeileen: Last year I went to go walk my dog at the University of Southern Maine where I was living in the dorms just in time to see 2 baby raccoons enter the courtyard with only one steep entrance and exit. I watched from afar for about an hour to determine if the mom was nearby and what their behavior was like to see if they’d survive on their own. I watched them trip a bunch of times and go up to every door in the courtyard but never towards the exit. I tried calling rescues but they were closed and it was 4th of July weekend! I made the decision to secretly keep them in my dorm overnight, checking on them every hour to be sure they were safe!
