@flooring.foothills: Clean scribe + power shunting tool to finish it off right. Last row has to be perfect or it shows forever. #flooring #laminateflooring #flooringinstallation #constructionlife #satisfying
A power shunting tool?!?! What in the ‘You mean I don’t have to use the silly lil hammer method anymore?’ is that contraption?!? I NEED ONE!!

Pretty sure it’s removing the baseboard and not using shoe molding that makes the separation

My question is, you didnt remove the trim before install, what are you filling for the gap? A quarter round? Wouldnt it be nicer to remove trim and then reinstall? Just wondering as i see this alot and just wondered

For the “you should have pulled the baseboard” comments, many people don’t want to pay to have baseboard removed and replaced because it is often more expensive than putting a 1/4 round or shoe molding down, so the majority of the time in homes that have trim that is what is used. It is nothing this installer is doing wrong, simply what the customer asked for. -Sincerely the project manager who tried to convince them 1/4 round is tacky looking

I think that last piece should have been more similar to the ones around it, it looks out of place.

am I crazy? I thought you were supposed to take off the baseboards so that the flooring can actually go under it?
