South Bend was so much better back then. But, in the 70's, the town was alive! no malls, shopping was done downtown, all movie theaters were downtown and there was alot of them including all the drive ins. lots of bowling centers and skating rinks everywhere. you had Kmart and Kreskies and GL Perry's. always something to do back then!

Woahhh Venture! Also, there used to be a tiny strip mall at the corner of Kern and 31 waaaaaay back in the very early 90s that had a video rental store before Hollywood Video and Blockbuster came around.

Used to walk to McKinley school from Churchill and back in kindergarten! A 5 year old could never do that today

I worked at Richard’s restaurant on the south side in the 90s. Still miss their spicy chicken sandwich and salad bar. Best damn all you can eat fried chicken on Monday and Wednesday nights too! 🤣

Worked at MCL Cafeteria in '95, Ally Oops was the best. Cruising up on McKinley 98/99. Shooting pool at the place that was on McKinley or Golden Q in South Bend.
