what if the other person doesn't get back to you, because the other person still love's and cares for you, but the other person is going through issues in the other person head or maybe other issues and wants to protect you, so that statement makes me think you don't care about the other person

Last night I opened my eyes. At 10:40 he said he’d call me when he got out of the bathroom. I replied with a simple “Okie” and three hours later I asked if he was still awake and he replied with “yesssss” so I gave up.
