this is such an unhealthy mindset tho. calling all neutrality “opportunistic” is just inaccurate. In many contexts, neutrality is actually a disciplined position, not a weak one. there is a difference between neutrality, indifference, and opportunism

meh, there are always two sides to every story, and more often then not, ppl will just refuse to communicate like adult. if you don't listen to both sides, you are just going off the vibes and picking a friend. I've been in that situation before where I believed the hurt friend only for them to only tell me half truths, and it forever changed my friendship with the other.

This doesn’t count for the fact that a person could care less about either party. If we have a surface level relationship there’s nothing wrong with not wanting to get involved into some mess. A person doesn’t have to give more energy or effort into a relationship than they’re willing to.
