A Short Stay in Hell genuinely made me sit and stare at a wall for 20 mins afterwards. I also still think about it every day 🤪

The first one sounds a lot like the midnight library, which is one of my favourite books so may give that a try thank you

A Short Stay in Hell was so great! It started out charming and quaint and it ended with me feeling somehow claustrophobic in infinity

I recommend "The Metamorphosis"
by Franz Kafka, its a about a man who wakes up being transformed into a large bug. The opening is weird but once you sit with it, it grows on you.
