@pt_with_jt: Today marks the beginning of Holy Week: the last week of Jesus’ life and the anticipation of his resurrection. It’s a time to slow down and reflect on who Jesus was and what He did for us by WILLINGLY going through the physical, mental, and spiritual torment of getting crucified. It is not easy to read the details of his final hours but in the gruesomeness of his death is indescribable beauty as the entire time He was going through it, He was thinking about you. He was doing it for you because He loves you THAT much. I’ve never felt more overwhelmed than when thinking about what He went through and understanding the reason why He did it. The destructive nature of sin is an evil force powerful enough to break the human spirit, but Jesus is immeasurably more powerful than that. He took the weight of our sin and took it with Him to heaven so we don’t have to live with it. Let His love for you flood your mind and heart, let it free you to love yourself so you can then love others with the same power that Jesus loved us on that day. Have a blessed Holy Week, and if you’re considering going to an Easter service this week but are fearful of judgment, know that the church is a place where other sinners go.
